President
Rulon M. Olsen is the President and Co-Founder of Echelon Performance Group. Rulon, is a Certified Professional Consultant and the President of Rulon, Inc., a privately held public relations firm that focuses on creating positive corporate identities. He is also the CEO of Diamond Success Systems, a practice management company for health care professionals. Both of these companies have a success record of 20% or higher annual growth for their clients. Rulon received his certification as a professional consultant through the University of Ohio in 2002, but his grasp of business started at an early age.
As a senior in high school, Rulon attended the Utah State University’s Business Week Challenge where the business-minded students were challenged to create a business model that would control all the competitors’ businesses in the competition. He was able to develop a model that won the state-wide competition in the 1980’s and he has continued to develop business models for local, regional, national and international companies.
Throughout his career, Rulon has developed business management systems for literally hundreds of businesses in the US and abroad. One program Rulon developed was a new practice management system for dentistry, which he has personally implemented in numerous dental offices throughout the Western US region. Within a year of implementation, one client rose to the top 1% grossing offices in the nation. He also developed a national Dental Whitening franchise system for dental offices that generated new patients for the office with Kiosks in malls in the United States.
His success is a result of his ability to develop a customized approach for each client. This approach requires training and communication. /He has conducted thousands of training sessions and has the ability to effectively deliver individual consultations as well as to train at national conferences with 800 plus attendees. He has been featured in numerous training videos and has been a guest expert for both television and radio business programs.
Rulon, Inc. was established in 1998 and quickly became a respected and sought-out company in the region. As a result of his success, Rulon has operated this business by referral only since his first year in business. The two pillars he built Rulon, Inc. on were trust and respect for his clients. Rulon has earned the trust of his peers and his clients through open and honest communication and standing by his word. His respect for client confidentiality has made it possible for him work with companies in the same profession without conflicts of interest. His clients know he is constantly watching out for their best interests.
Rulon has also worked with several non-profit corporations to reorganize boards to a more nimble and productive model while reducing costs. He has invested a great deal of time and energy into understanding the business models of non-profit organizations because of the regulatory constraints. While working with the organizations, Rulon developed a desire to give back to the community. He founded the American Academy for Painless Dentistry and has help many clients create or partner with existing charities of their own.
Rulon has received many awards during his years in business; among them are the Who's Who of Professional Management, Manager of the Year, Salesman of the Year, and Business Man of the Year, but his most important accomplishment is the raising of his family. He and his beautiful wife have five children and four grandchildren, whom they love to spoil! He also enjoys his horses, his library, volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America, and has recently become certified as a PADI Rescue Diver!
